What a Great Way to Kick Off the School Year
The first day of school is always filled with excitement and anticipation, and this year’s welcome assembly at China Middle School was one to remember! The morning began with an incredible display of school spirit as CMS 8th graders formed a tunnel of cheers, welcoming the new 5th graders into the gymnasium! Their energy was contagious and set the perfect tone to help the newest Clippers feel right at home.
Mrs. Studholme, Principal, and Mr. Moody, Dean of Students, then took the stage to share some exciting new opportunities at CMS. Students can now earn Clipper Cash for showing that they are safe, responsible, and respectful. Teachers had fun channeling their best Vanna White impressions while highlighting the amazing prizes available at the school store. They also heard about Clipper Kickbacks, a brand-new program celebrating students with strong attendance, good behavior, and good grades.
The energy only grew when Mr. Moody announced the raffle winner of a brand-new drone—congratulations to 5th grader Reid Gosselin on winning the grand prize!
The assembly closed with heartfelt words of wisdom from 8th graders Carley Winn, Emma Bailey, and Kayson Thomas. They reminded their classmates to enjoy every moment, be kind to everyone, and always stay true to themselves—powerful advice that perfectly reflects the heart of China Middle School’s community.
