Youth Mattering StoryWalk

Healthy Communities of the Capital Area (HCCA) and the Kennebec County Youth Advisory Board are pleased to announce that Ryleigh Jacob’s story, A Twinkle Away, was selected as the winner of the StoryWalk Writing Competition! Ryleigh’s story was announced as the winner during the Youth Mental Health Awareness ArtWalk event in Augusta on Saturday, April 6th. HCCA and the youth advisory board were highly impressed with Ryleigh’s story and loved the different themes she included – youth resilience, community mattering, and hope.

Ryleigh’s story will be displayed along the Viles Arboretum trail from May 26 – July 28. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place for her story on May 31 at 5:30 pm at the Viles Arboretum.

China Middle School and the Readfield Library will also host a portable StoryWalk of Ryleigh’s story. These storyboards are being completed for these locations (they’re at the printer), so stay tuned for the release date soon!

Congratulations Ryleigh! #WeAreRSU18 #ChinaClippers
