Sixth Graders Dive into Marine Science
China Middle School sixth graders explored the Gulf of Maine ecosystem during a hands-on field trip to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) in Portland.
Students took on the roles of scientists, investigating marine life like lobsters and Black Sea Bass, exploring climate change impacts on habitats, and collecting and analyzing real-world data with lab equipment, including microscopes. The immersive experience deepened their understanding of ecosystems and resilience while sparking curiosity and collaboration. #WeAreRSU18 #ChinaClippers
