Update Regarding CMS Remote Learning 3/22-26
Good Morning Students & Parents!
We hope you are having a nice day! We are reaching out to give you some information regarding our remote learning plan for next week. All students will be attending classes fully remote for next week. We will be following our normal bell schedule each day and students are expected to attend classes on time as usual. How long students remain in their virtual class will differ from teacher to teacher; however, the overall schedule will be followed. If you are already a remote student, your schedule will remain the same.
To log in to virtual meetings, students will use the Google Meet links on each of their Google Classroom pages unless they hear otherwise from a specific teacher. We have practiced this in school and students should know how to access it. If they do not, they should email their teachers as soon as possible to get assistance.
We will not be having homeroom all of next week, which means that the school day will begin at 8:09 am when the first period of the day starts. If a student has a study hall, they do not need to login to a Google Meet for that, they should simply use their study hall time at home to complete work. 7th/8th-grade lunch is from 10:57-11:37 and 5th/6th-grade lunch is from 11:39-12:19.
We recognize that last March when we went remote the expectations were unclear and students and staff did not feel prepared for that specific circumstance. Although we are not technology pros, we do feel much more prepared for this next week of full remote learning and we have worked diligently to prepare students for this as well. This next week of school is required just like a normal school week. Attendance and all assignments are required and could be included as part of a student’s grade. If a student is going to be absent, parents should call the main office as usual to excuse them.
We would also like to inform you that lunches will be available at the school daily. They will be available for pickup anytime between 11:00 & 12:30. There will be an email to follow with more information regarding this.
