MLK Advisory
On Friday, January 24th, students at CMS participated in a lesson in their advisory groups about the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
The lesson was created by the CMS Civil Rights Team and their advisor Mr. Reed, and it had students watch a brief biography of his life and his efforts to fight to end segregation based on race and skin color. After, students discussed the meaning of a selection of quotes of his and participated in a gallery walk of images that represented a full picture of his life.
One student remarked that these images showed that he was, “Just a normal person (like us) who chose to do amazing things.”
