M&M Challenge at CMS
Student’s in Mrs. Dugan’s 6th-grade math classes wrapped up quarter 1 with a group project. The M&M Challenge asked students to make estimations, calculate accurate data, and demonstrate their knowledge of beginning statistics. Students used a set of data collected to answer a statistical question that had a distribution which can be described by its center, spread, and overall shape. Students also worked to create graphs of their data as individual teams and as a grade level.
